Rochdale Literary Festival: Serial offenders

£7Three top crime authors discuss their detective series, how they came to write them and what it’s like to revisit the same characters, book after book. The panel will be chaired by journalist Helen Nugent.
Isabelle Grey will discuss Wrong Way Home and DI Grace Fisher. Isabelle is a television screenwriter whose credits include Jimmy McGovern’s BAFTA award-winning Accused: Tina’s Story as well as over thirty-five episodes of Midsomer Murders, Casualty, Rosemary and Thyme, The Bill and Wycliffe. She has also written non-fiction and has been a magazine editor and freelance journalist. Wrong Way Home is Isabelle’s fourth psychological thriller.
Elly Griffiths will discuss Dark Angel and more importantly Dr Ruth Galloway. Elly was born in London and worked in publishing for many years. Her bestselling series of novels, featuring forensic archaeologist Dr Ruth Galloway, are set in Norfolk. The series has won the CWA Dagger in the Library, and has been shortlisted three times for the Theakston’s Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year.
William Shaw will discuss Salt Lane and DS Alexandra Cupidi. William has been shortlisted for the CWA Historical Dagger, longlisted for the Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year and nominated for a Barry Award. He is the author of the ‘Breen & Tozer’ crime series set in sixties London and for over 20 years has written on popular culture and sub-culture for various publications including The Observer and The New York Times.
