On Being Human: Wednesday 21 October

’ll be one of 22 writers responding to the theme ‘On Being Human’ the main theme of this year’s CITY READS book: The Humans by Matt Haig. I’ll be reading a three-minute story called The Cuckoo’s Nest which is about how that very human thing, music, helps us get over hard times. I’ll be assisted by two members of Brighton Ceilidh Collective, Paul Quinn and Heather McAslan.

There will be a bar, and a bookstall by Waterstones. The event will be hosted by writer and columnist Laura Lockington.
